The RODHOOKIE
The RODHOOKIE is not a new product but one that is hard to find.
I saw one a few years back at a small tackle shop in Miami and
thought it was a cool and convenient idea. I picked one up, and
to this day, it continues to serve us well aboard the
Compromise. However, we I tried to find the source of the
product, I ran into dead ends. Till now.
The RODHOOKIE is an inexpensive way to make sure every angler
has a fighting gimbal. It clips to a belt, but most people
simply just hook it to their pants. The design makes RODHOOKIE comfortable
and most people forget they are wearing it.
A bonus is that the RODHOOKIE is made in America. It is
injection molded of hi-density polyethylene and is just a
simple, fail-safe design.
The closest competitor to this simple device is Mold Craft's
'Gut Saver'. The Gut Saver is very similar to the RODHOOKIE and
works very well, but it costs over $ 18. You can buy two
RODHOOKIE fighting gimbals for the price of one Gut Saver and
have enough left over for coffee and a donut!
