The New StingRay Aqua
Saltwater Spinning Reel
StingRay’s AQUA saltwater
spinning reel offers a dual drag design and an all aluminum alloy body
finished with an abrasion resistive rubberized black finish. With seven
plus one stainless steel ball bearings (7+1) and an effective moisture
shielded design, AQUAs can easily handle the harshest saltwater
environment.
Aqua was developed in
partnership with a major OEM reel manufacturer and it incorporates many
features found in much higher priced reels.
The Aqua 40 is the smaller of the Aqua
series and is the ideal reel for inshore fishing.
The StingRay Aqua
compares favorably to the Shimano®
Saragosa®
(MSRP $ 189.99) and Shimano®
Baitrunner®
(MSRP $ 109.99)

even the 60 is too small

The line capacity is not near enough for shore fishing. Also the bait runner is too quiet- a common problem among bait runners. The drag does not function well either. Line retrieve is also a problem with the small spool and short handle. Maybe would work in-shore fishing from a boat but not a good surf/shore fishing reel. Maybe if they'd make a 90 and exchange them for my 60's I would change my mind since it's made from all the best components (stainless and aluminum).
Good stuff: the frame is outstanding with the one-piece construction and rubberized finish.

Incredibly impressed with the build quality and effortless action of the Aqua 40 reel. Great reel for fishing from the beach or boat. Equally or better than reels costing tice as much or more.
In addition, the customer service, incredibly knowledgeable staff, commitment to stand by their products and low prices make Stingray the premier tackle shop in South Florida!!!
