THE APAVA

Available for Day Charters, Overnight Charters,  Tournament Fishing, Bahamas Trips, Sunset Cruises

This is by far the most unique boat in the Palm Beaches. This classic, 58-foot Rybovich-built boat is full of history and fishing success.  Previously owned by the infamous Bernie Madoff, the Apava (also known as the Bull) was sold in 2009  in a government auction of Madoff property.  Under the expert command of Captain Jack Blades, who has been fishing these waters for more than 30 years, the Apava is now available for day, overnight, tournament or Bahamas trips.  It also is available for shorter Sunset Cruises.  If you are looking for luxury and excellent fishing, with a story to tell your friends back home, the Apava is the way to go.

THE COMPROMISE

The Compromise is a 35-foot Everglades, center-console boat with triple Suzuki 300 motors.  A fast and deadly no-nonsense fishing machine, the Compromise is versatile enough for fishing offshore, in the Intracoastal Waterway, or down the local rivers that feed into the ocean.  The Compromise is equipped with the latest navigation electronics, safety equipment and fishing tackle to make your fishing trip enjoyable.  All our staff captains are qualified and checked-out for trips on the Compromise.

THE FREESPOOL

Where else can you go fishing with the original Captain Mark Morgan?  The FreeSpool is a 32-foot Blackfin Express Sportfish boat, with a marlin tower, outriggers and an electronic package to make your offshore fishing experience fun, safe and successful. The boat provides ample room for up to six anglers and is  available for extended charters to the Bahamas.

INSHORE

We have several inshore options as well. If you want to try fly-fishing for bonefish or snooks, or simply chase mangrove snappers, we have the right boat and captain.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU CHARTER A TRIP

Jupiter Florida region is located less than three miles from the Atlantic fishing grounds, so a minimum of time is spent on cruising and a maximum amount of time is left for fishing.  The off-shore waters are known as Sailfish Alley, providing great sailfish action throughout the year, with December through March being  the peak season.  Most boats also troll for wahoo, kingfish, bonito, amberjack, marlin and Mahi Mahi (known locally as dolphin).   If you want to do some bottom fishing, Florida's grouper and snapper are among the best eating fish there are.  If you prefer fishing the calmer inland waters, there is excellent fishing in protected waters, along the Intracoastal Waterway and in the Loxahatchee River, which feeds into the Atlantic Ocean through the Jupiter Inlet or the St. Lucie River to the north.

Most charter boat fishing trips last 4½ hours for a half-day charter and 8 hours for a full-day charter.  The boats provide fishing tackle, and bait.  You always need to bring sun block and a hat, because the South Florida sun can burn badly, even on an overcast day in the middle of winter.  If you are wearing shorts and a short-sleeve shirt, it is a good idea to bring long pants and a long-sleeve shirt with you in case you start to burn.  You also will need to bring food and beverages, but ask if beer is okay.  Some boats allow beer; others do not.
