StinRay Fishing Outfitter's Yearly Trip to Guatemala
February 23rd to 27th, 2014

Our highly anticipated yearly trip to Guatemala is scheduled for February 23rd-27th, 2014. This is the height of the fishing season and we once again have great World Class captains. Captain Chris Scheeder aboard the legendary Rum Line, Captains Chico and Nicho Alverenga (Spindrift and Release). As you can see this year we have one extra boat, so we can take 12 anglers.  Four spots are already reserved, so as of this e-mail there are eight spots.

I know some of you have expressed interest on bringing your wife, girlfriend, etc. This year, the trip is gravitating towards an all boys trip once again but if I get enough feedback and commitments, I can schedule a week for family immediately following the boys only week. But for the time being, it is a boys-only.

Most of you have already been in one of our trips, so there is no need to explain. These trips are fun, lots of fishing, good food and great camaderie. For those of you that have not, here is the itinerary:

  • Arrive in Guatemala City the morning or early afternoon of February 23. We drive to Antigua, Guatemala's colonial capital, where we have a light lunch with time for you to shop the many stores around the area. This is the best time to get some souvenirs for the folks back home.
  • Continue to the Lodge for a welcome reception.  Check in and settle for your first of many incredible meals ahead. We will discuss the next three days, basic instructions, and what to expect.
  • For the next three days, we have breakfast around 7 AM, head out to the fishing grounds around 8 AM and fish all day. Lunch is seved onboard. We arrive back at Marina Pez Vela at around 5 PM, enjoy the pool, snacks and drinks.  Dinner is served at 8 PM.
  • Last day we have a mini tournament beween the boats. Winners take home a trophy/flag. We usually pool $50/angler and the winning mate crew takes home the pool. This is optional.
  • On Sunday, we have breakfast and take the bus back to the airport.

Each boat has a StingRay staffer onboard to answer questions, teach you the finest points of Guatemala style fishing and handle any issues that may surface.

The cost of the trip is $ 3,100 and includes all meals including lunch in Antigua, three days of fishing, and transportation. Does not include air fare (averages around $ 300 out of Fort Lauderdale), alcoholic drinks, cigars or other incidentals.

This email is not being sent to our general customer list. If you are receiving it is because you have traveled with us before or you expressed interest on going on our next trip. We usually fill these trips quickly (last one within 15 days), so if you want to join us, reserve by clicking on the link below.  We are breaking the deposits as follows:

  • $ 500 immediately holds your spot. This is refundable prior to October 15th.
  • $ 1,500 by November 15th. Your deposit ($ 2,000) is refundable only if we find an angler to take your place (we usually have a waiting list).
  • $ 1,100 by January 23rd
